Flying to Inverness

Via Perth, Singapore, Heathrow, and Gatwick.

Less said the better. No problems with any of the connections or volcanic ash. Had a decent meal on Tuesday night then passed out and had a great sleep in the B&B – the dinner before that was on Sunday night (not counting airline food)

The A380 from Singapore was very good, a bit smoother than the 747, and it has a tail webcam you can access from the inseat entertainment unit. Great for watching dawn over Russia at 12000 metres, I recomend it!

  1. Hey uncle Michael,
Sounds like a pleasant start to your trip. However you’re in for a whole bunch of fun temperature wise. It ranges from 3 to 12 degrees at the moment but that doesn’t include the wind chill factor as the wind seriously feels like ice!

I’m sure you’ll have an awesome time though. I’ve got colleagues that are hiking this weekend in Wales and then again in 3 weeks time off the north west coast of Scotland…if a winging pom can do it then I’ve faith in a can do Aussie! :-)

  2. Welcome to the Challenge. Have a great crossing, and hope to see you in Montrose.

  3. Hi Michael, I just had a look at your map progress an as I did another location post appeared. Intriguing concept to get one’s head around – to get such feedback on your location from halfway around the world. Bit spooky actually. Cheers.
