Franz Joseph glacier, NZ.
On our recent NZ trip we did a half day walk on the Franz Joseph glacier on the west coast of the North Island. The weather turned out wet and overcast, but it was still a great place to visit. When we visited it’s sister, Fox Glacier a couple of years ago, we were surprised to hear that it and Franz Joseph were two of very few glaciers in the world that were currently growing – sadly, Franz Joseph started receding again last year.
